E-7 | OCT vs IVUS for Detection of Edge Dissection

چکیده
Edge dissection is a common cause of target lesion revascularization after stent placement. It has been suggested that optical coherence tomography (OCT) superior to intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) for detection edge dissection. We queried PubMed, EMBASE, Medline, and Cochrane studies comparing IVUS OCT assessed as part their protocol. A total 10 were included in this analysis. Meta-analysis was performed using Jamovi R 4.0. Of the 2024 patients analyzed, 1016 (50.2%) imaged with 1008 (49.8%) OCT. Detection favored an odds ratio 0.83 [CI 0.13, 1.54 p<0.001]. One trial, ILUMIEN III, -0.53 -1.03, -0.02 Analysis above demonstrates provided better rates when compared IVUS. However, one randomized-controlled trial (ILUMIEN III) showed Further study into these imaging modalities warranted.

Combined use of OCT and IVUS in spontaneous coronary artery dissection.
SPONTANEOUS CORONARY ARTERY DISSECTION (SCAD) REPRESENTS A DIAGNOSTIC CHALLENGE (1,2). In this study, we used a combined imaging strategy, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and optical coherence tomography (OCT), in 8 patients with SCAD. The diagnosis of SCAD required the visualization of an intimomedial membrane with a double-lumen or intramural hematoma (Figs. 1, 2, and 3). Their mean age was 5...
متن کاملOCT versus IVUS: accuracy versus clinical utility.
The technology of optical coherence tomography (OCT) has evolved from time-domain to frequencydomain imaging. Time-domain OCT is most often performed using proximal balloon occlusion; as such, dimensions are smaller than measured using intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), presumably due to diminished perfusion pressure. Conversely, frequency-domain OCT does not require proximal balloon occlusion, t...

Accurate assessment of atherosclerotic plaque characteristics and the subsequent tailoring of optimal therapy holds great promise for preventing acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and life-threatening sequelae (1). Combined use of optical coherence tomography (OCT) and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) was proposed as a potential method for accurate assessment of plaque characteristics and vulnerabil...

Correspondence to Dr Georg M Fröhlich; [email protected] In the present issue of Open Heart, Gudmundsdottir and colleagues compare two intracoronary imaging modalities, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and FD-optical coherence tomography (FD-OCT), in patients undergoing complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with rotablation for calcific coronary lesions. In particular, this s...
متن کاملFusion of IVUS and OCT Through Semi-Automatic Registration
The most frequent cause of heart attack and sudden cardiac death is the disruption of plaque build ups in the arteries. Current technologies such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) image the vessels from inside-out in order to detect plaque deposits as well as other structures. In this work we develop a novel image fusion technique that produces images wit...
